As a result, firms utilize SMA for organizational purposes. Then again, Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) is a popular subject in the area of operations management for both researchers as well as practitioners. However, the influences of SMA on GSCM practices and finally on organizational performance are not well understood. SMA can expedite information flow and knowledge sharing amidst supply chains and also may assist organizations for greening their SCM practices. In this research, we empirically investigate the impact of SMA capabilities on GSCM practices. Data collected from 206 manufacturing managers were analyzed applying a structural equation modeling methodology. Results confirm that the adoption of SMA in supply chains by manufacturing firms positively affect the GSCM practices among the chain.

Human resources are the most important resources for all types of organizations. Psychological empowerment refers to individual’s beliefs in their ability to feel empowered in an organization for better organizational business performance. Although Electrical and Electronics (E&E) industry contributes an excellent business performance in the past two decades, this industry was now facing significant challenges in maintaining the growth of their business performance, and it is necessary for them to move up the value chain. Thus, this study aims to examine the relationship between psychological empowerment and organizational business performance of E&E industry in Malaysia. In this study, psychological empowerment consists four elements namely autonomy, self-efficacy, impact, and meaning. By using self-administered survey, the data were obtained from 287 respondents from E&E companies in Malaysia. The data were then analyzed utilizing Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) technique. The findings of this study provide insight into the importance of psychological empowerment in organizational business performance. The findings indicate that, of all those four elements of psychological empowerment, only autonomy, self-efficacy, and meaning have significant influences on the business performance in the E&E industry. Lastly, this study will contribute in term of theoretical, managerial and methodological perspectives, limitations and recommendation for future studies.

At present, Fast Moving Electrical Goods (FMEG) industries target wholesale dealers and not the retailers for supplying their finished goods. The reasons for this being: a) Dealers are fewer in numbers and hence net distance travelled per shipment is less b) Dealers tend to demand higher lot sizes, thereby decreasing overall cost of transportation per unit for the product. This work presents a supply chain strategy to use retailer based distribution by solving both the issues by a) using the concept of milk runs by taking analogy of Travelling Salesman Problem to decrease transportation cost and b) applying time bound marginal discount utility to solve the issue of low lot sizes. A case study has been prepared based on field experiences of middle level FMEG industry for its four popular consumer products. It presents application of travelling salesman problem (TSP) algorithm to make efficient milk runs. Also, concept of time bound marginal discount utility solution is proposed to find an optimum discount price to optimize the transportation cost and revenues. The paper compares this proposed supply chain strategy with manufacturer to dealer model and manufacturer to retailer model with various combinations.

E-logistic services spread so rapidly worldwide which overlook the significant segment of customer satisfaction. Therefore, the prime objective of the current research study is to develop a comprehensive framework for e-logistics customer satisfaction. Various studies highlighted the area of e-logistic customer satisfaction, however, in a rare case, literature formally documented the problem of e-logistic customer satisfaction. Hence, less attention has been paid to the aspect of customer satisfaction in e-logistic. To address this gap, four hypotheses are proposed concerning the relationship of e-payment, e-traceability, website design with information communication technology (ICT) and e-logistic customer satisfaction. By using the convenience sampling technique, 500 questionnaires were distributed among the e-logistic users. The results of the current study found that e-payment, e-traceability, and website design has a significant positive relationship with ICT and ICT has a significant positive relationship with e-logistic customer satisfaction. This study is contributing to the body of knowledge by developing a comprehensive framework to solve various e-logistic problems. Hence, the current study is helpful for e-logistic companies to mitigate e-logistic customer satisfaction problems.

Because of that, the SC activities need to be optimized and this can be done through the supply chain management (SCM). This study has three key objectives: to reveal the influence of government policy in terms of supervision, to check the reliability of distribution and innovation factors on the execution of the SCM of subsidized fertilizer in Indonesia. A sum of 800 questionnaire have been spread to the test site and a number of 587 or 73% successfully returned. Furthermore, the data from 513 respondents, or 64% of the spread, was analyzed by statistical software Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings from this study shows that the government policy in terms of supervision and the reliability of the appropriation has immediate and critical impact on execution SCM of subsidized fertilizer. However although there is no immediate impact on the execution of SCM, factor of innovation plays a significant role because it determines the success of supervision and reliability of the distribution. Moreover, this supervision factor and the reliability of the distribution act as a mediator between the factors of innovation with the full performance of SCM. To improve the performance of SCM of subsidized fertilizer in Indonesia, this research suggests that the government pays attention to supervision, the reliability of the distribution as well as innovation factors. Due to that, the distribution of fertilizer will be more suited to its purpose at the right time with the appropriate location, type, quantity and the right quality, and at an appropriate price. In future research, the same study could be utilized for other subsidized commodities.

One of the ways to authenticate the Halalness of food is through the Halal certification. This certification system can guide Muslims in making decision for certain products and services without hesitation. Because of the demand for halal products and services is very promising, more and more companies are starting to certify their products and services. This demand is also true to one of the largest Malaysia’s contributors to the national economy - hotel industry. The Halal certified food can give an extra edge to the industry in luring not only the local tourists but also the international tourists as well. Despite the increase in demand for certification, the statistics released by JAKIM in 2017 showed that there were only 442 certified Halal hotel out of 4661 hotels in Malaysia. This could be due to numerous challenges faced by companies in obtaining the certification. One of the main challenges of obtaining the certification is due to the lack of understanding of the Halal certification process itself. Hence, this paper attempts to introduce a determinant success factors framework of Halal certification supply chain related to the hotel industry. Current materials management practices in the construction industry are performed on fragmented basis with many problems faced when managing material supply chain, especially during pre-construction phases. These problems are the main root that causing performance-related problems such as delay in material ordering and receiving, low productivity, cost and time overrun, conflict and disputes. Thus, this paper reviews and discusses the activities and problems faced in material supply chain management during pre-construction phases. It also reasons out on the potential of SCM to be the way forward for improving problems of construction industry (i.e. material supply chain management).
This study intends to explore the impact of an industry-specific dimension of service quality in automotive after-sales service and how it influences the level of customer loyalty towards Malaysian national carmakers. Each service industry carries different characteristics of consumer behavior and thus, an industry-specific measure of service quality to capture the uniqueness of different service setting is required. In relation to that, this study has evaluated service quality in automotive after-sales service as a second-order construct which allows for identification of the relative importance of each dimension in influencing the level of customer loyalty. Aside from that, the fierce competition from the non-national brands in Malaysian automotive market and the attractive offers made by the alternative workshops for car service maintenance and repair have motivated this study to empirically examines the competition factor of alternative attractiveness and its influences on customer loyalty. The data collected through the technique of intercept survey in systematic sampling from 312 respondents were analyzed using PLS-SEM. The findings revealed that customer service was the most important dimension of service quality that contributes to the positive relationship with customer loyalty. Meanwhile, support service was found as the impotent element of service quality dimension, however, the positive significant relationship of service quality with customer loyalty showed that support service is still important to capture a higher level of customer loyalty. Aside from that, the finding also showed that the competition variable of alternative attractiveness was not a significant contributor to influence the level of customer loyalty. Further, this study benefited the Malaysian national carmakers as it provides empirical evidence on the relative importance of service quality dimension. The role of competitors also revealed to help in strategic decision-making in which may allow the national carmakers to sustain as a market leader in the local automotive arena.

Smart Tailor is an architecture that integrates various stakeholders such as tailors, designers, and customers in a garment industry. The architecture provides the ability to promote, manage and fulfill supply and demands of their product via electronic ways. Currently, the implementation of the related transaction processes is done manually which may cause time consuming and inefficiency in fulfilling the supply and demands of the garment products. Therefore, this paper aims to construct a conceptual model of Smart Tailor Architecture. This study adopted the first phase of the Rational Unified Process approach, Inception, by identifying the goal of the conceptual model and the verified requirements of the Smart Tailor architecture. Then, the verified requirements were transformed into the Smart Tailor components using the Unified Modeling Language approach. Finally, the verified components by experts become a conceptual model of the Smart Tailor Architecture. The model may contribute to the garment industry stakeholders as well as researchers, decision makers, and software developers.

Agricultural production process typically produces two types of outputs which are economic desirable as well as environmentally undesirable outputs (such as greenhouse gas emission, nitrate leaching, effects to human and organisms and water pollution). In efficiency analysis, these undesirable outputs cannot be ignored and need to be included in order to obtain the actual estimation of firm’s efficiency. There are several approaches that has been proposed in DEA literature to account for undesirable outputs. Many researchers have pointed that directional distance function (DDF) approach is the best as it allows for simultaneous increase in desirable outputs and reduction of undesirable outputs. Additionally, slack based DEA approaches considers the output shortfalls and input excess in determining efficiency. The proposed model uses an enhanced DEA model which is based on DDF approach and incorporates slack based measure to determine efficiency in the presence of undesirable factors. Later the proposed increase in desirable outputs and reduction in undesirable outputs can be found for inefficient farmers. The developed model is used to determine rice farmers efficiency form Kepala Batas, Kedah. The study found 13 out of 30 farmers are CRS efficient and 17 out of 30 farmers are VRS efficient. From the basic DEA model, higher number of efficient farmers are identified due to the fact that the effect of undesirable outputs is not included in the model. Generally, DEA models which considers the effects of undesirable outputs produces more robust results.

In this study, localization is treated as the mediator, while property rights of zakat and asset specificity performed as the independent factors in determining the performance of zakat. Data from 428 samples of zakat payers reveal that localization was performed as the complementary partial mediation toward the performance of zakat. This is due to the property rights of zakat and the asset specificity have the direct impact on the psychological performance. Hence, further exploration of the innovation in supply chain management, especially on the aspect of decentralization of zakat is needed. This study suggested that development opportunities could be met by applying the concept of localization in the zakat institution.
